Sarah Stark is a German artist and illustrator, working across fashion, editorial, and live illustration.

She collaborates with fashion brands, magazines, and digital platforms, creating distinctive visuals for print and web. Alongside commissioned work, she offers live sketching at events — capturing people, style, and atmosphere in the moment.

Sarah has been working as a full-time illustrator since graduating from the Münster School of Design in 2016, where she studied life drawing, graphic design, and illustration.

Her work is inspired by fashion, human expression, movement, and the organic forms of nature. She embraces experimentation and works primarily with traditional techniques such as ink, acrylic, and paper collage — giving each piece a tactile, expressive quality.

The beauty of imperfection plays a central role in her process. Visible textures, fluid lines, and the raw character of materials bring energy and individuality to her illustrations — making each work feel immediate, alive, and unique.

As a commercial illustrator, I approach each project with flexibility and a strong sense for the client’s vision. My process begins with understanding what is needed — and translating it into my own visual language.

I work with a wide range of styles, from bold, expressive lines and strong silhouettes to softer, more reduced compositions. Color plays a key role — whether vibrant and striking or subtle and refined — always tailored to the project.

At the core of my work is a commitment to traditional techniques. All illustrations are created by hand using ink, acrylic, and mixed media. Depending on the project, they are then carefully refined or composed digitally for print and web.
